Towards a more constructive use of technology in mathematics and science
Author(s)
Abstract
The trends in technology use in Cypriot primary and lower secondary school students' mathematics and science classrooms and at their homes were discussed. The study was conducted during the academic year 2003-2004. Two different questionnaires were developed, one for primary and lower secondary school math/science teachers and one for parents of children in the target age group. Both elementary and lower secondary school teachers reported very limited access to computers at school. Cypriot children should be provided with the opportunity to learn mathematics and science in a manner that is adapted to the current technological environment.
