Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of brain dominance as defined by the theory of Henry Mintzberg (1976) about human brain activity. The theory based on the fact that the human brain has two hemispheres that function differently and each hemisphere is in charge of different brain activities. It will be examined how people think and which activities they prefer depending on if they use more their left or right brain hemisphere and how this is related to management, leadership, and marketing.
The information and data used in this study were gathered by targeting a representative sample of Greek and South European (Cyprus, Italy, Portugal, Spain) managers and business executives. 86 of fully completed online questionnaires were collected. 52 of the participants are managers or leaders of a team and 34 are business executives. The results indicate that the majority of the people replied to the questionnaire are using both brain hemisphere equally.
