- PublicationJob Satisfaction in relation to Occupational Health and Safety of Organizations(2023-06-13)
;Fenek, ChristinaNicolaidou, OlgaIt is widely accepted that ill health, accidents, and injuries in the workplace are due in large part to human behaviour, so the importance of understating how job satisfaction affects safety performance cannot be understated. Although numerous studies have been conducted on job satisfaction, the effects of factors on health and safety practices in the organization have not been fully investigated, which remains an area of interest. First, a historical review is given, and a number of definitions of job satisfaction and OSH are listed. Then, a bibliographic review of the factors influencing job satisfaction, the relationship of positive culture with job satisfaction and the impact of job satisfaction on OSH is carried out. Quantitative data collection and analysis methods were adopted to achieve the research objective. Participants from various Cyprus companies with officer duties provided valid questionnaires. The SPSS statistical analysis package was used to analyse the data. The results showed that job satisfaction has a positive impact on OSH. In addition, the analysis showed that employees who perceive that their company receives what is necessary for their job satisfaction show the feeling of safety in the workplace. Also, it is worth noting that based on the statistical analysis there was a high level of job satisfaction and OSH from the employees.
